Since 1990, the EnergyIdeas Clearinghouse has been the most comprehensive, technical resource that Pacific Northwest business, industry, government and utilities use to implement energy technologies and practices. EnergyIdeas is operated and managed by the Washington State University Extension Energy Program in Olympia, Washington. Funding is provided by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (Alliance).
The energyideas.org website was launched in 1998 to expand the university’s reach and put useful information into the hands of everyone who can significantly reduce energy use. To learn more about the EnergyIdeas approach, review the Implementation Details on the Alliance website.

The Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE), Canada’s centre of excellence for energy efficiency and alternative fuels information, is playing a dynamic leadership role in helping Canadians save millions of dollars in energy costs while addressing the challenges of climate change.
Established in April 1998 as part of Natural Resources Canada, the OEE’s mandate is to renew, strengthen and expand Canada’s commitment to energy efficiency. The OEE originated out of Canada’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by six percent below 1990 levels by the period between 2008 and 2012, as agreed to in the Kyoto Protocol.
The OEE manages seven energy efficiency and alternative fuels programs aimed at the residential, commercial, industrial and transportation sectors.
