I have been an advocate of ethanol/gasohol for utilization as fuel for automobiles since the past twenty years. When we utilize ethanol as it is being done in Brazil, India can manage its fuel consumption without importing petroleum products. In the forthcoming issues, please highlight how much India can save on its petrol import revenue by using ethanol-petrol blends (ethanol 26% + petrol 74%).

This newsletter is highly informative and shows the current status with respect to the Government’s policy on ethanol implementation. The initiative to cover biodiesel and ethanol in the Editorial is a welcome idea as both topics are of great importance under the current scenario. You are also providing information under ‘World Highlights.’ A similar concept for information within India should be added to this newsletter.
