Air heating systems comprising 45,000 sq m collector area has been installed in India under the erstwhile subsidy scheme and current soft loan scheme.

Solar Thermal Building Desisgn
A Solar Buildings Programme to promote solar-efficient building designs in the country is being implemented by MNES with the following components: training and education; publicity and demonstration. Some examples are:
  • Two buildings, the HIMURJA and the Himachal Pradesh Cooperative Bank at Shimla deploy these concepts
  • A number of buildings in Himachal Pradesh and one building in West Bengal based on this concept are under construction

  • Financial Assistance The limit for financial assistance for construction of solar efficient buildings under the demonstration programme is Rs 10 lakh

    Building bye-laws The building bye-laws of a number of cities are being examined through a sponsored R&D programme of MNES with the objective of bringing in the energy efficiency aspect
